Come out and support your local Black House fighter Marvin Madariaga as he defends his 145lb title for Epic Fighting! Marvin is currently 3-0, with wins over Rogelio Reyes, Shane Daniels, and Craig Cook, and will be looking to rack up another win and his first title defense on January 20th. Marvin has been a local captain for the gym, as the newer students have had an opportunity to see him rise through the ranks in both Muay Thai and MMA. Congratulations to the BJJ students at Team Nogueira who received their Blue Belt this past Tuesday. After three days of hard training and testing from Professor Adriano Camolese, a few select students were promoted with their blue belt or received stripes for a future promotion. Many of these students have been training with Team Nogueira since the facility first opened, and we’re all very proud of their skill progression.
Both Rodrigo ‘Big Nog’ and Rogerio ‘Lil Nog’ Nogueira were excited to hear about the promotion as well, and raced from L.A. after their WAR in Canada to take pictures with our students, and offer congratulations. Rodrigo was very enthusiastic, but reminded students that blue belt is not the peak of their training, but a waypoint on the way to black belt. All of our members were very thankful of both their enthusiasm and their presence.
Congratulations to the 16 candidates who tested on December 3rd! These students spent two and a half hours with Kru Alex and the Intermediate Class going through a grueling mix of Strength & Conditioning, Technique, Individual Testing, Intense Padwork, and Sparring.

The Beginners Muay Thai class is comprised of four levels, which each student must pass before they make the jump to the Intermediate class. This way we can be sure all students have a strong foundation before they begin training with our more experienced students and fighters. For this particular test, we had 6 students test out of the Beginners class, and many others promoting to Levels 2 and 3. Congratulations again, and thanks to the Intermediate Class for helping with the test!

All Muay Thai students should attend the Beginners MT Test this Saturday, Dec 3rd at 12pm (sharp). Beginner students will be testing for White Band levels 1-4 and a few more experienced individuals will be testing for their Yellow Bands. All Intermediate students (Yellow and Up) will be helping to administer the test and welcome their new classmates. Good luck on your test everyone and make sure to turn in test forms by Thursday!!

Come out to NBC San Diego’s ‘Salute to Service Festival’ this Saturday from 11-4pm at the Liberty Station South Promenade. Black House Team Nogueira will be joining NBC, Ashford Univeristy, and the San Diego Padres to show our appreciation to the men and women serving in the military. At the festival you’ll find FAMILY ACTIVITIES, a BEER GARDEN, LIVE MUSIC, and FREE FOOD for anyone with a Military ID.
