San Diego Muay Thai Class Instructor

From an early age Kru Alexander Palma demonstrated his passion for combative athletics when he took up the art of Muay Thai at the young age of 8 years old in San Francisco, California. He competed throughout California, Arizona and Nevada in countless Non-Sanctioned Muay Thai & Kickboxing competitions up until the age of 17 years old. Apart from Muay Thai, Kru Alex had also cross trained with Martial Arts Hall of Fame instructor Grand Master Allen A. Abad here in San Diego, California where he achieved the rank of 5th degree Black Belt and the title of “Sifu” in the Mixed Martial Art’s system known as Kajukenbo, the same fighting style that MMA legend Chuck “The Iceman” Liddel had studied under Grand Master John Hackleman over at “The Pit” in Arroyo Grande, CA.

Kru Alex’s drive, dedication, and skills in the fighting arts led him to Central Europe at the age of 23 where he competed in first the “B Class Level” of competition and improving enough the the following year to compete at the “A Class Level” in both Muay Thai and European Kickboxing Tournaments that were held in Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Budapest, Romania, Turkey and Egypt to name a few. During his stay in Warsaw, Poland, Kru Alex had trained alongside many prominent European fighters such as World Kickboxing Champion, Przemslaw Saleta and Poland’s K-1 MAX sensation, Mariusz Cieslinski, who happen to be two of Poland’s legendary champions.

After 12 years of competition, Kru Alex returned to the United States where he now coaches aspiring fighters. He first started at San Diego’s oldest fight gym, Black Tiger Boxe Thai and then Poway Mixed Martial Arts, where he specialized in teaching a unique blend of Traditional style Muay Thai and Dutch style Muay Thai. In April of 2009, Kru Alex was promoted by one of his long time Muay Thai instructors, 8 Time World Muay Thai Champion, Adjarn Vince Soberano Kaewsamrit, to the title of 7th Khan Black-and-White Band Senior Instructor. Kru Alex’s wealth of knowledge and experience makes his unique and focused instruction highly effective and second to none. It is evident that the same passion Kru Alex has for being in the ring is put into his coaching making him one of the most top quality trainers around.
